Your headed to the Kentucky Derby!

There are a few questions you need to ask: What is the weather supposed to be?

What am I going to wear? What do I pack in my bag?

Guarantee there will always be rain, I don’t know why but it is inevitable. Take a small umbrella, also take a plastic bag to cover your hat as feather, flowers etc.…, won’t hold up if soggy. Cash is nice if you don’t want to be tracked on spending, but a credit card will cover all the issues and is taken everywhere at the track. Prepare yourself to be sharing a bathroom with multiple people, not everyone is a fastidious as you, just do your best and pack what you need to survive it, wipes, sanitizer, small bottle of perfume. You will get through it. Keep your clothes on, we are not 20 somethings in the infield, trying for whatever reason to think this is a major party, dignified ladies, keep items on. If you are fortunate to have a chair assigned to you, or a table in the newer sections, claim it with a light jacket, indoor temperatures can be comfortable while outdoors can vary, so don’t go asking the guy for his jacket, it’s part of his ensemble and it is hiding his sweat stained armpits. Be kind, bring your own. By now your thinkings, what is this a day at the fair, do I pack a picnic lunch too. You are not to far off. If you have food issues, and you didn’t resolve this with the venue ahead of time, yes you are packing food too. Protein bars, and peanut butter and jelly would be the safe bet, but don’t pack the tuna, you will be asking for trouble.

What to wear started early January if you were thinking ahead and I know you were. First it is a color palate because you're not wearing orange if you hate that color. What is my happy color, happy look, most comfortable style? We’ll dig into this in my upcoming book that will be ready by 2026 but in the meantime. Don’t go breaking the bank.

Get your happy color and work from there!
